How we compare
Honest head-to-head comparisons with the other .NET obfuscators, including the cases where they are clearly the better tool for what you are doing.
The short version
FreeObfuscator does symbol renaming only. There is no string encryption, control-flow obfuscation, anti-debugging or anti-tamper. Several tools on this page do considerably more, and if you need that, you should use one of them.
What we offer instead is the absence of friction: no installation, no configuration file, no licence, and a working result in about a minute. For a great many projects renaming is the level of protection actually needed, and the deciding factor is how much effort it takes to adopt.
If you are weighing this up, read what obfuscation actually protects against first. Deciding how much protection you need is a better starting point than comparing feature tables.
